Poisoned by Welfare

Wednesday, 24 October 2012

Zukks quit because gays in California had just received a domestic something-or-other which qualified them for housing loans; since his religion does not condone The Gay, he told his boss he could not continue to work there.

Happily married two years ago with a precious baby son arriving a year after that, he sent out a mass email to friends requesting financial help.  I was more than happy to send him money; he had put me up many a night when I was living in my car in LA.

I didn’t realize Zukks had so many friends, with the donations he was able to buy a 70’s camper and escape from LA to Oregon, where his father had recently retired.

Life in the Pacific Wonderland is pretty sweet for Zukks. He nor his wife have to work to receive welfare benefits, he alone just has to attend certain job meetings to stay qualified, like taking SCUBA classes with zero intention of going anywhere near water.

The last time we conversed telephonically Zukks threw me a new one: it was the gays’ fault for his family having ended up where they were, therefore he was the victim, a claim so ridiculous I’m embarrassed to even type it.

When Zukks recently pestered me via texts (on his obamaphone) I went off on him, reminding him I worked and was therefore not always available.

You do remember WORK, don’t you?

He texted back: Ha ha good luck if im supposed to feel guilty for getting free stuff.

I didn’t answer.

This is what welfare does to once-productive people. Welfare–or rather the condition of non-work it enables–is the most seductive and powerful of all the addictions, more powerful than heroin, nicotine, alcohol, TV and the internet combined. The longer you lie on your back in the social safety net, the more it feels like a hammock. Every working person is a potential welfare junkie. No one is immune to the lure of paid leisure and not having to deal with unpleasant people for whatever length of time they consider excessive (for me it’s 5 minutes).

Zukks still has principles, poisoned though they are. The part of his faith about God requiring work he seems to have forgotten, but when the Oregonian System announced that in order to continue receiving benefits his wife would have to begin the same employment classes, he declined. He wants Wifey to be a stay-at-home mother, a noble goal, if they could do it on their own dime and time.

Just when it seemed Zukks was going to have to take control of his life again his income tax refund arrived, and just as that money ran out the State made him eligible for benefits again. (UPDATE:  More good news, Oregonians, Zukks’ wifey is indeed knocked up; the ensuing hospital care is on your tab)! You people sure are generous with your granola.

I asked Zukks a while back if he planned on living this way forever. He appears to have no plan for the morrow, and the sobering truth is, he probably could live off The System forever, no matter which political party rules (we’re so far gone that as you’re reading this, you’re already thinking of someone you know who is gaming the system).

When Zukks was working, he always did quite well, making more than me most years, and that’s sans the fake degree from the fake school where we first met. Now he’s being paid by the State to fail.

I’m the first to admit failing to live up to full potential, but I eat the shit, deal with assholes and pay the fucking bills that have to be paid, as do millions of Americans. The law can’t force someone to feel guilty (even as a motivator to do and be better) but it should force welfare rollers to acknowledge, even if it just means checking a box, that “free” means someone else is paying for it.

US Military Social Engineering Experiment Part Deux: Gay Lamb Cannons are here!–UPDATED 21 FEB 18

Wednesday, 22 December 2010

So now The Kenyan has finally got around to signing a law repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’, which had barred gays from serving openly in the military.  At least it was done sans the activist asshole judge.

I opposed the repeal of the ban based on what I think is a semi-original idea.  I had some trouble explaining it in person, but here goes again.

Forget for a moment that we’re talking about gays in the military.  Instead, let’s say the military wanted a new type of rifle.  With barely any testing of this new rifle’s performance, it is immediately adopted and replaces the M-16.  That alone is madness; in order to placate those opposed to the new barely-tested rifle design, the military leaders promise if the new rifle fails in the field, it will be replaced with the M-16 again.

Well, my fellow Americans, we’re not even promised that much.  What we’ve been told is the new rifle is going to replace the M-16 whether it works or not.

I suspect The Gay will negatively affect military performance, but I have enough wisdom to know that I don’t know for certain.  What I do know is the obamateurs—the marxist radicals Slobmerica elected—who are currently responsible for keeping our Armed Forces strong, ALSO have no idea how The Gay will affect military performance, nor do they care if the results are negative.

If women in the Armed Forces is any indicator, The Gay is going to be a lot of trouble, and like all politically-correct social experiments, a lot of trouble that will be hidden from the public eye.

21 FEB 18 UPDATE

WELL ME BOYOS, rather than start a whole new post I’m going to add this here, since it’s a variation on the original theme.

Regarding gays serving openly in the military, my concern was increased obstacles to troop readiness in the name of social justice would get our troops killed.  Now that I think about it, while I haven’t gone looking for one, I’ve never seen a headline anywhere explaining the results of this social experiment, but I gather if it’d been a roaring success, fake news would have (for once) trumpeted an honest report on the front page.

Sometime between 2010 and 2018, I remember the military opened up every job to women.  (To me the craziest wasn’t allowing women to attempt joining the SEALS, it was women being allowed to serve on submarines.  What a great deal even for plain janes!—who could charge $500-an-hour to screw.)

So the latest affront to common sense is what every soldier and sailor knew would happen:  the presence of women lowered standards.

Marine Corps Quietly Drops Major Obstacle to Female Infantry Officers

Read the comments section:  I don’t need to add my voice to the chorus of Marines saying BAD IDEA.

But that’s the Age of Insanity we live in.  We just try everything because we can, no matter how retarded, never caring about real-world results except to hide failure.

Heath Ledger (1978 – 2008)

Wednesday, 23 January 2008

Likable actor who seemed cool in real life. Was good in The Patriot, not yet a star.

Brokeback Mountain is the most authentic, well-acted love story of the past decade, though Ennis Del Mar was a bit of a blond dummy (more great acting).

This will sadden the premiere of The Dark Knight. Shades of Brandon Lee.

He resembled porn ogre Alex Sanders, only (far more) handsome.

I never hope anything happens in threes, good OR bad. Between the forgotten Brad Renfro’s OD and Ledger’s accidental OD, if one more famous young actor dies this will become a media “crisis” and government assholes will try to join the circus, crying out for more stupid, ineffectual laws.

There are horrible people out there probably already claiming God was “angry” at the Gay, and that’s why he was taken.

There are thousands, if not millions or perhaps billions of people who would gladly have traded places with him and lived his exact life, even if they knew they’d die at the same age.

Death is also a force of nature. R.I.P.

Brokeback and the beasts

Wednesday, 10 October 2007

Finally saw Brokeback Mountain today, on DVD. I would’ve watched it sooner, but there’s always something better to do than watch gay cowboys…you know.

Now that I’ve seen it, I’m not averse to saying it’s a great film in every respect. It has all the makings of that overused word “masterpiece”, only for real: excellent acting, soundtrack, pacing, story and the nature shots of Wyoming are gorgeous. The Gay is tastefully done and I suppose as a sort of reward for dudes dragged to see this, both attractive female leads go topless. Even more amazing, Linda Cardellini, who has only a brief role and does not strip, ends up the sexiest woman in this epic. If that hottie can’t turn Ennis Del Mar away from The Gay, no woman will.

One thing I thought would happen did not: Jack (Fuckin) Twist’s mother sneaking Ennis the goods he’d offered to take in fulfilling a request. Hope that info doesn’t spoil anything.

Ebert is right, The Gay isn’t the point of BM, it’s loving Something you can’t have and the beauty and tragedy resulting therein. I’ve never felt that way about anything or anyone; all I crave is to be away from the monsters that compose 99% of what is jokingly referred to as humanity while still getting by. I haven’t yet been able to do so successfully. God hides well.
